Standard Insurance
All Rent a Dent vehicles have insurance cover which is included in the rate quoted. This is referred to as our Standard Insurance Cover. All pricing includes GST (NZ Goods and Services Tax).

Provided the "Rental Terms and Conditions" and use of the vehicle is complied with by the hirer (and the listed drivers) the standard Insurance excess applies to all drivers.

Drivers under the age of 25 years have a higher excess applied on all vehicles.

Licence criteria.
All drivers to have held a full licence for a minimum of 3yrs
 

Insurance Excess Charges for drivers 25 years and over:

Cars and Station wagons: The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $1200.00.

People Mover 6-8 seater (MPV) : The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $1500.00.

Minibus 10 - 12 seater : The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $1700.00.

Trucks : The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $2200.00.

CDR (Collision Damage Reduction)

C.D.R can be purchased to reduce the Standard Insurance Excess for drivers 25 yrs of age and over.

Cars and Station wagons: CDR can be purchased for $10.00 per day to reduce the excess to $500.00 or for $15.00 per day to reduce the excess to $250.00.

People Mover 6-8 seater (MPV) : CDR can be purchased for $10.00 per day to reduce the excess to $750.00 or for $15.00 per day to reduce the excess to $450.00.

Minibus 10 - 12 seater : CDR can be purchased for $10.00 per day to reduce the excess to $750.00 or for $15.00 per day to reduce the excess to $450.00.

Trucks : CDR can be purchased for $20.00 per day to reduce the excess to $1000.00 or for $35.00 per day to reduce the excess to $500.00.

Insurance Excess Charges for drivers under 25 years old:

Cars and Station wagons: The Standard Insurance Excess for drivers under 25 years: $1700.00.

People Mover 6-8 seater (MPV) : The Standard Insurance Excess for drivers under 25 years: $2000.00.

Minibus 10 - 12 seater : The Standard Insurance Excess for drivers under 25 years: $2200.00.

Trucks : The Standard Insurance Excess for drivers under 25 years: $2700.00.

CDR (Collision Damage Reduction)

C.D.R can be purchased to reduce the Standard Insurance Excess for drivers under 25 years of age:

Cars and Station wagons: CDR can be purchased for $10.00 per day to reduce the excess to $900.00 or for $15.00 per day to reduce the excess to $500.00.

People Mover 6-8 seater (MPV) : CDR can be purchased for $10.00 per day to reduce the excess to $1000.00 or for $15.00 per day to reduce the excess to $750.00.

Minibus 10 - 12 seater : CDR can be purchased for $10.00 per day to reduce the excess to $1200.00 or for $15.00 per day to reduce the excess to $750.00.

Trucks : CDR can be purchased for $20.00 per day to reduce the excess to $1500.00 or for $40.00 per day to reduce the excess to $1000.00.

In the event of an accident, a claim form must be completed by the hirer (or the listed additional driver) and handed in to the Rent a Dent branch concerned.

Glass Excess

The excess for all breakages of glass in a vehicle including windscreens, headlights and all windows is $500.00, when taking CDR extra insurance on the vehicles the glass excess is also reduced to $250.00
